SALTWATER FARM, SAN JUAN ISLAND, WASHINGTON

San Juan Island isn’t that far from Seattle, but when you step off the ferry, it’s hard not to feel like you’ve taken a much larger journey. Rolling your windows down as you drive off the ferry, the pace of life instantly slows down, especially in the lazy summer sun. Island life and the PNW modern aesthetic of the iconic Saltwater Farm was a perfect combo for A&I’s outdoor wedding. Bold colorful florals, and a laid-back attitude and natural color palette set the day up. What really stood out to me was the palpable joy they both had for each other and their people. Starting the morning with a run/cycle then sprinting into the icy Salish Sea for a personalized mikvah ceremony, then leading into a deeply present ceremony and party made it so easy to really dive in to get the kind of intimate documentary photographs I love taking.
